Cain Delivers Top Ten List On Letterman
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - Less than a week after tossing the first perfect game in San Francisco Giants history, Matt Cain pitched a series of jokes on The Late Show With David Letterman Monday.
Cain appeared via satellite on the popular Top Ten List feature, running down the "Top Ten Things I Want To Achieve Now That I've Thrown A Perfect Game." Among Cain's new goals are "throwing a perfect game with my other arm," and "converting the mound into an organic vegetable garden."
Cain pitched the franchise's first perfect game and the 22nd in major league history, striking out a career-high 14 and getting help from two spectacular catches to beat the Houston Astros 10-0 last Wednesday.
He returned to the mound hours after the appearance on Letterman, earning a victory after surrendering three runs and six hits to the Angels Monday night.
