PETALUMA (CBS SF) - They're not the cutest of the breeds, but for some reason, there is a mass appeal towards the aesthetically challenged pedigree of canines who enter year in and year out at the Sonoma-Marin County Fairgrounds on Friday, June 22.

The World's Ugliest Dog contest draws many fond owners to this North Bay event each year with a day filled to pamper that special pooch. Dog lovers will enjoy pet psychics, dog whisperers, booth activities for kids and their best friends and vet checks, just to name a few. At the Sonoma-Marin Fair, you can also adopt your own ugly dog or at least "not-so" ugliest dog.
After-all, it is all about man's ugliest best-friend. Winner of the ugliest dog contest receives a trophy, $1,000 dollars from the Sonoma-Marin Fair, a year's supply of premium doggie treats, a photo session and a VIP (Very Important Pedigree) stay at the Sheraton Sonoma County hotel.
