East Palo Alto Man Found Dead In Bizarre Murder Scene

EAST PALO ALTO (CBS SF) -- An East Palo Alto man was found shot dead Sunday afternoon, several hours after shots were heard in the area, according to police.

Shots were first reported just after 1 p.m. on the 2300 block of Glen Way through the automated Shotspotter system, Detective Sgt. Jeff Liu said.

Officers arriving on the scene found evidence that someone had been shot with a firearm, but no victim.

Shortly after 4 p.m., police received a call reporting a man down in the same area. Officers arriving on the scene this time found 30-year-old Edmund Beverly in an area that had been previously checked by police, Liu said.

Police are investigating the death as a homicide and asking anyone with information to come forward.
