Workers Paint Over Student Mural At San Francisco School
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS/AP) -- Workers have mistakenly painted over a colorful mural weeks after San Francisco middle school students completed the two-year campus beautification project.
The Buena Vista Horace Mann School mural is now under a coat of yellow primer.
It took two years to plan draw and paint the 200-foot mural.
It featured images of the Golden Gate Bridge, the school's fire-breathing dragon mascot and monkeys, yellow fish, blue waves and the city skyline.
But a summer work order to paint the school obliterated it.
School administrators are now working with contractors to determine if the paint can be removed to restore the mural.
