Woman Crashes Car Into Tree, Home After Fleeing San Leandro Traffic Stop

SAN LEANDRO (CBS SF) -- A woman driving a suspected stolen car in San Leandro tried to run from a traffic stop on Thursday night but quickly crashed into a tree and then a house, police said.

At 10:22 p.m. on Fargo Avenue officers attempted to pull over an Acura Integra with license plates belonging to a Honda that had been reported stolen.

The Acura sped away but hit a dip in the road and crashed into a tree, spinning out, and then hitting a house on Fargo Avenue and Fleming Street.

The 33-year-old Hayward resident was injured in the crash and taken to a hospital before she was arrested. The residents of the home she crashed into were home at the time but were not injured.

Police determined that the car she was driving was stolen out of Richmond.
