2 Shot Near Oakland Zoo

Oakland (CBS SF) -- Two victims were hit by gunfire in a shooting near the Oakland Zoo Monday night, police said.

Oakland police Officer J. Kroushour said the shooting occurred at the intersection of 107th Avenue and MacArthur Boulevard at about 9 p.m.

The suspect tried unsuccessfully to rob two victims. When the victims resisted, the suspect shot several rounds, striking both victims, Kroushour said.

The suspect fled the scene and police have not made any arrests, Kroushour said.

Police said the victims were transported to the hospital for treatment and their injuries do not appear to be life threatening.
