2 Arrested In Fairfield Burglary

FAIRFIELD (CBS SF) -- Police arrested a juvenile and a 20-year-old man in connection with a residential burglary in Fairfield Monday afternoon.

Shortly before noon on Monday, police received a call from a person on El Basset Court, stating that two people had been seen jumping a fence and trespassing onto a neighbor's yard.

The anonymous caller said he saw two people knock on the door of the neighboring residence and then looked inside the home, before entering the rear yard.

The resident that reported the incident told police that the neighbor was not home.

Officers arrived at the residence and set up a perimeter. One of the suspects exited the house and was detained by police.

Police identified the first suspect as a juvenile.

Police searched the residence and found evidence leading them to believe that the second suspect was in the attic of the house.

Officers donned gas masks, used a pepper spray projectile in the attic and searched the area.

Police found the second suspect and identified him as Lee Owens, 20, of Fairfield. Police took Owens into custody without further incident.

Owens was booked into Solano County jail on charges of conspiracy, resisting arrest and burglary.

The juvenile suspect was booked into Solano County juvenile hall on charges of conspiracy and burglary, police said.
