SANTA ROSA (CBS SF) — The Sonoma County Sheriff’s SWAT team is trying to make contact with a person suspected of firing a gun inside a residence south of Santa Rosa Thursday night, a sheriff’s sergeant said.

The sheriff’s office responded to 317 Bucks Road in an unincorporated area of Sonoma County at 5:45 p.m. after receiving reports of someone firing a gun there, Sgt. Shannon McAlvain said.

The SWAT team and sheriff’s negotiators responded as well, and have blocked off several streets in the area, including Bucks Road and portions of Santa Rosa Avenue.

McAlvain said he did not know whether negotiators had made contact with the person. He also said that no further shots have been heard so far.
