Man Robbed In SF Mission District After Meeting Woman For Sex

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - A man was robbed after meeting up with a woman for sex at a Mission District hotel room on Wednesday evening, police said today.

The robbery was reported around 7 p.m. near 16th and Mission streets.

The 40-year-old victim agreed to meet up with the woman at the hotel, where he gave her money, according to police.

The woman, described as in her early 30s, then threatened to have her friend beat the man up, so the victim got scared and left, police said.

At least one other similar case was reported near the same intersection back in March. In that case, a man agreed to meet up with a woman at a hotel, and another man came into the room and robbed the victim at knifepoint.

Police spokesman Officer Gordon Shyy said he did not know whether Wednesday's robbery was connected to any previous ones.

"We always look into that," Shyy said. "We definitely look to see if there's the same M.O."
