Woman Fatally Stabbed In San Jose, 2nd Homicide Of The Day

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- A woman was stabbed in San Jose Monday evening in the city's second homicide of the day, according to police.

The woman was found on a sidewalk near the corner of West San Carlos Street and Meridian Avenue shortly after 6:31 p.m.

She was suffering from at least one stab wound when police arrived and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have not yet determined the motive or circumstances of the stabbing, and are uncertain whether the stabbing is related to the shooting death of a man inside a car earlier on Monday.

Just before 1:40 p.m., a Hispanic man in his mid-30s was found suffering from a fatal gunshot wound in a parked Chevrolet Impala on Charles Street just west of Oakland Road.

The woman killed in Monday evening's stabbing was San Jose's 26th homicide victim this year.
