San Jose Police Investigating Possible Gang-Related Shooting

SAN JOSE (CBS) -- San Jose police were investigating a possible gang-related shooting. The suspects shot a teen as he was walking down the street.

At 2:49 p.m., the San Jose Police 911 call center received reports of a shooting victim on the sidewalk in the 1500 block of Pomona Avenue.

Officers arrived and found a 15-year-old male suffering from at least one gunshot wound and learned the shooting had occurred moments earlier on the 200 block of San Jose Avenue as the victim was walking.

The victim was taken to a local hospital where he is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The unidentified suspect(s) fled prior to the arrival of officers and remain at large. The circumstances and motive for the shooting are unknown and remain under investigation.

Preliminary investigation suggests the shooting may be gang related. No further details are being released.
