Oakland Shooting Leaves 1 Hurt

OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- A shooting victim sustained a gunshot wound after shots were fired near Verdese Carter Park in East Oakland Monday night, according to police.

Police received a report of the shooting around 8:45 p.m. in the 9600 block of Sunnyside Street, located one block from Bancroft Avenue.

Two male suspects fled the scene of the shooting before police arrived. One of the suspects was carrying a firearm, police said.

The victim transported himself to the hospital with a gunshot wound and remained in stable condition, police said.
