ANTIOCH (CBS SF) — Antioch police say an armed domestic dispute suspect was fatally shot during a pursuit in which he pointed a firearm at police late Monday night, police said.

Police responded to a report of a domestic dispute in which a gun was involved at 2301 Sycamore Drive at 11:14 p.m., located in a residential neighborhood.

Upon arrival, police located a male suspect with a firearm. The suspect was getting into a vehicle and leaving the scene when officers arrived, police said.

Officers tried to stop the suspect but he fled the scene and officers pursued him through Antioch.

The suspect rammed at least two police cars before he crashed his vehicle and fled on foot through backyard, according to police.

KCBS’ Jeffrey Schaub Reports:

The suspect was located on the roof of a house on Wainfleet, Court where officers confronted him.

The suspect pointed the firearm at the officers, who in turn fired at the suspect, striking him at least once, according to police.

The suspect died at the scene, police said.

Anyone with information was asked to contact Det. James Stener at (925) 779-6894.
