Martinez Woman Arrested For Arson
MARTINEZ (CBS SF) -- A woman was arrested on suspicion of arson for a fire in a Martinez home on Sunday, according to the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District.
The fire was reported in a single-story home at 730 Pine Court at 11:14 a.m. on Sunday.
Smoke was coming from the eaves of the home when firefighters arrived and the occupants of the home had evacuated, fire officials said.
The fire was contained to the room of origin. Firefighters believed the fire was suspicious and called a fire investigator.
The investigator concluded the fire was arson and a 49-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of starting the fire.
No injuries were reported. Damage to the home was estimated to be about $35,000.
