Couple Sought After Woman Beaten, Stabbed In Martinez

MARTINEZ (CBS SF) - Police were attempting to locate a husband and wife who allegedly beat and stabbed a woman in Martinez last weekend, police said Thursday.

Around 3 a.m. Saturday, a 20-year-old woman arrived at the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center's emergency room with stab wounds and facial injuries, police said.

Police learned that the woman had been beaten and stabbed earlier that morning at a home in the 900 block of Court Street in Martinez, near the county jail.

Further investigation led officers to serve a search warrant around 11 a.m. Saturday at the residence where the alleged assault occurred, according to police.

Officers found several pieces of evidence at the home but did not locate the suspects, Jacob Lerman, 42, and his wife, 30-year-old Jackie Lerman, police said.

Martinez police obtained probable cause arrest warrants for the couple, who are believed to be armed and dangerous.

An investigation into the alleged assault was ongoing.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Martinez police Detective P. Salamid at (925) 372-3452 or Detective Sgt. G. Walkup at (925) 372-3450.
