San Jose Police Search For Armed Robbery Suspect

SAN JOSE (KCBS/AP) -- Police  searched a San Jose neighborhood Monday afternoon for an armed robbery suspect who ran from officers according to police.

San Jose Police Lieutenant Lawrence Ryan said the search for the robbery suspect in the Berryessa neighborhood has been called off. Police initially responded to the robbery at a business in the 1600 block of Zanker Road at 11:09 a.m.

Three suspects had robbed a medicinal marijuana clinic at gunpoint and fled in a white van after escaping with merchandise and an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police spotted the van but when they attempted to stop it the suspects fled and police followed.

Eventually the van was stopped near Kenmar Court and Ronco Drive, and two of the three suspects were arrested. The third suspect, described as a Hispanic man in his teens or early 20s, ran from police.

The suspect is considered armed and dangerous, but police believe he has fled the area. Anyone who spots the suspect should call 911 immediately, police said.
