San Pablo Police Officer Shoots Suspected Car Thief In Richmond
SAN PABLO (KCBS) - A person suspected of stealing a car in Richmond was shot and wounded by police after leading the officers on a chase early Thursday, authorities said.
An officer with the San Pablo Police Department opened fire on the suspect on Point Isabel at Rydin Road just off Central Avenue near Costco around 2 a.m., according to a spokeswoman for the Richmond Police Department.
The suspect remains hospitalized in stable condition. Neither the name of the suspect nor the name of the officer who fired the shots have been released.
Details about the alleged car theft were also not immediately available.
Both the Richmond and San Pablo police departments are investigating the officer-involved shooting.
