Women Riding In SUV Hurt In Oakland Drive-By Shooting

OAKLAND (CBS/AP) -- Police say three women have been injured during a late-night drive-by shooting near a college in Oakland.

The women were riding in an SUV near Mills College when another car next to them began shooting shortly before midnight Wednesday.

Police say the SUV's 21-year-old driver from Oakland was seriously injured from the gunfire and her 19-year-old sister, also from Oakland, was wounded.

A third passenger, a 24-year-old passenger from Hayward, was injured as she was struck in the eye either from glass or bullet fragments. Two other women also inside the vehicle were not hurt.

None of their injuries are considered life-threatening.

Police said no arrests have been made as the victims did not know why they were targeted.

The shooting was under investigation.
