Daily Madden: 49ers Will Be Tested By Vikings' Peterson

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - The 49ers face the Vikings and Pro Bowl running back Adrian Peterson in Minnesota Sunday. Peterson is back after suffering a torn ACL and ruptured MCL in December, but John Madden expects him to seriously challenge the 49ers strong run defense.

"He looks very good," Madden told the KCBS morning crew. "He has extreme strength. His body is one of the strongest bodies I've ever seen... And he plays with that strength, and I think that's what helps him come back."

What else should the 49ers be concerned about?

"Turnovers," the former coach said. "That is the great equalizer."

The Raiders are four point underdogs to the Steelers in Sunday's game in Oakland, but John Madden thinks the Raiders have a good chance to beat the odds.

"The Steelers can come out flat; they're not a dominant team anymore," he said. "The Raiders don't play the run well, they don't tackle well. But Pittsburgh doesn't run much anymore. The biggest thing you have to be concerned with in their offense is (quarterback) Ben Roethlisberger." (6:05)
