Argument Leads To Deadly Richmond Shooting

RICHMOND (CBS SF) -- A 23-year-old man was shot and killed during an argument in Richmond on Monday night, a police lieutenant said.

The city's ShotSpotter gunshot detection system alerted police of gunfire near 23rd Street and Gaynor Avenue around 8:30 p.m., Lt. Bisa French said.

Arriving officers found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

He was taken to a hospital where he later died, French said.

Two males were seen running from the scene of the shooting and are believed to have been involved, French said.

Police believe the victim may have been in an argument before he was shot—likely with the two fleeing suspects, she said.

No other injuries were reported.
