Early-Morning Stabbing Death Marks San Jose's 34th Homicide Of 2012

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- Police in San Jose are continuing to investigate the city's 34th homicide that took place early Sunday morning.

Officers responded to reports of a physical fight involving several subjects near Monterey Highway and Bernal Road at about 1 a.m., according to San Jose police.

Initial reports were that some of the subjects involved in the fight were armed, and that at least one person might have been shot, police said.

Arriving officers found one man suffering from a stab wound, police said. The victim was taken to a hospital where he later died.

Police did not release the victim's name pending notification of his family.
