Berkeley 3-Alarm Fire Possibly Caused By Propane Tank
BERKELEY (CBS SF) -- Firefighters were battling a three-alarm fire at a residence in the Elmwood neighborhood of Berkeley Wednesday morning, according to a fire dispatcher.
The fire in the 2900 block of Benvenue Avenue, located near the intersection with Ashby Avenue, was reported to fire officials at 12:18 a.m., the fire dispatcher said.

KCBS' Jeffrey Schaub Reports:
Firefighters reported that the occupants of the single-family home were able to escape from the house uninjured. A wheelchair-bound woman was helped out of the residence by firefighters.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation, however the initial reports indicate that it may have been cause by a propane tank in the rear of the house, the fire dispatcher said.
