1 Killed, 2 Hurt In Oakland Shootings

OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- One man was killed, and two others were hurt in separate shootings overnight in Oakland, according to police.

In the first incident, two men were injured in a shooting in West Oakland, police said.

Around 12:15 a.m., one or more suspects in the 1000 block of 7th Street opened fire, striking two men, Officer J. Moore said.

Both men were taken to hospitals in stable condition to be treated for gunshot wounds, Moore said.

In the second incident, a man was shot and killed in East Oakland, a police officer said.

Police responded around 12:55 a.m. to reports of a shooting in the 5600 block of Hilton Street, Officer J. Moore said.

Officers arriving on the scene located a located a man suffering from gunshot wounds who was lying on the ground and was unresponsive, said Officer J. Moore.

The man was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 1:38 a.m., Moore said.

No information about possible suspects were available.
