Sheriff's Deputies Shoot Shotgun-Toting Suspect In Stockton

STOCKTON (CBS SF) – The San Joaquin Sheriff's department is investigating an officer-involved shooting in Stockton.

The shooting happened early Wednesday morning in the 3700 block of E. Miner Street in Stockton.

Sheriff's deputies were attempting to serve a search warrant at the home and ended up having to call the SWAT team, according to San Joaquin County Deputy Les Garcia.

SWAT officers went into the home and found the suspect had armed himself with a shotgun. Officers opened fire hitting the suspect.

The man was taken to the hospital. His condition is not known.

No other information was immediately available.
