SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) – Frank Gore ran for 131 yards against a tough Seattle Seahawks defense to lead the 49ers to a 13-6 victory at Candlestick Park. John Madden said it was an amazing Thursday night feat.

“You get beat up on a Sunday and then you have to come back a few days later and do it again, and you run as hard as he did and take as many hits as he did… he’s going to be one sore guy. He wasn’t just there for the kneel-down. He was there the whole time they needed him.”

After an impressive effort in a loss to the undefeated Atlanta Falcons last weekend, the Oakland Raiders play the 1-4 Jacksonville Jaguars at the Coliseum Sunday.

“This is one obviously that the Raiders have to win,” Madden said. “If you say that going on the road and playing against Atlanta is really, really tough, then playing at home against Jacksonville is really, really easy.”

John said he’s looking forward to Sunday’s Redskins-Giants match-up. “I’m really intrigued with (rookie quarterback) RG III and the Washington Redskins and who they’re going to be when this is all over and done with this year. And they play the Giants, and that’s good even when you don’t have that other ingredient.” (7:25)
