SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) — Health inspectors have shut down three high-profile San Francisco restaurants this year, while at least 40 more eateries have been closed by East Bay and Silicon Valley officials.

Bay Area foodies love to eat out, but how safe is it? Especially when inspectors struggle to keep up with the proliferation of new restaurants and food trucks.

KCBS’ Doug Sovern Reports:

KCBS reporter Doug Sovern investigates and discovers that local governments have way too much on their plate, in KCBS’ special Cover Story series “Watching what you eat.”

Listen for Doug’s reports Monday through Friday on All News 740 and FM 106.9 KCBS.
