Teen Stabbed During Gang-Related Fight Near Sonoma

SONOMA (CBS SF) -- An 18-year-old victim was assaulted in a gang-related stabbing Monday night in Sonoma County, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded to a report of gangs fighting in the parking lot of Vineyard Market, located near the intersection of Verano Avenue and state Highway 12 at 9:49 p.m.

All parties had dispersed when sheriff's deputies arrived.

Sheriff's deputies were alerted that a subject had arrived at Sonoma Valley Hospital with multiple stab wounds.

The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office detectives' investigation determined that rival gang members had indeed assaulted an 18-year-old victim in front of the Vineyard Market.

A 15-year-old male was also assaulted, but only sustained minor injuries, according to sheriff's deputies.

No arrests had been made and the incident remained under investigation, deputies said.

Anyone with information was asked to contact the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office at (707) 565-2185.
