San Jose Shopping Center Shooting Leaves 1 Hurt; 2 Women Arrested

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- Two women were arrested in the shooting of a third woman in a shopping center parking lot in San Jose early Thursday morning, according to San Jose police.

Police received reports of a shooting in the parking lot of the Plant Shopping Center near the intersection of Curtner Avenue and Monterey Highway at 2:45 a.m., according to Sgt. Jason Dwyer.

Arriving officers found a 30-year-old woman who had been shot at least once.

The two suspects, identified by police as 31-year-old My Loan Nguyen and 30-year-old Truc Phuong Ho, were located in a vehicle on Senter Road near Wool Creek Drive as they fled the scene, Dwyer said.

KCBS' Matt Bigler Reports:

Based on the preliminary investigation into the incident, police believe that the victim and the two suspects knew each other prior to the shooting, Dwyer said.

The victim was transported to a hospital to be treated for her injuries, which were not life-threatening, police said.

Nguyen and Ho were both booked into Santa Clara County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy. Nguyen was also booked on suspicion of destroying or concealing evidence, a misdemeanor, police said.
