SAN FRANCISCO (CBS 5) — A woman who said she caught Giants slugger Pablo Sandoval’s third home run ball from Wednesday night’s World Series game was arrested after she fell from the bleachers.

Giants fan Dawn Price told CBS 5 she was sitting in the outfield bleachers when Sandoval hit his third home run of the night during the fifth inning of Game 1. As the ball went over, Price claims she fell over the bleachers into an area behind the center field fence.

“When I tried to get the ball, I went down over the railing,” Price said.

Price said she suffered bruises and her pants were torn during the fall. After falling, she snapped up the ball, located several feet away.

“I reach down and get the ball, and the crowd is going crazy,” she said.

Price put the ball in her pants and attempted to climb up the fence to her seat. She was hauled off by AT&T Park security and arrested for trespassing.

Officer Gordon Shyy of the San Francisco Police Department said, “It’s possible (she fell), but it’s a pretty steep fall.”

Shyy said the ball has been recovered by the Giants. Price said she would have given the ball back to Sandoval.

The San Francisco District Attorney has not made a decision on filing charges against the fan.

Sandoval’s accomplishment of hitting three home runs during a World Series game ties a record also held by Babe Ruth, Reggie Jackson and Albert Pujols.
