Man Arrested After Swallowing 100 Cocaine-Filled Pellets Before Flight From SFO

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A man was arrested by Customs agents at San Francisco International Airport after swallowing 100 pellets filled with cocaine.

Emanuel Amakura allegedly ingested 100 two-inch long pellets filled with cocaine, totaling two and a half pounds of the drug, according to customs agents.

Amakura was attempting to board a flight bound for Japan when he was approached by Customs agents.

"I would assume the officers determined something was not right the way he was talking or walking," said Customs and Border agent Frank Falcon.

Amakura was taken to a nearby hospital where he later passed the pellets, which tested positive for cocaine.
