Santa Rosa Woman Arrested For Firebombing Neighbor

SANTA ROSA (CBS/AP) -- A Santa Rosa woman was arrested Sunday after allegedly throwing a lighted Molotov cocktail through the window of a neighbor she had been fighting with, according to police.

Seria Jean Taylor, 50, allegedly drove up to the victim's home on the 900 block of Ware Avenue on Saturday just after 7:30 a.m. and lit a wick on a bottle full of a flammable liquid, Sgt. Phil Brazis said.

She then allegedly threw the device through her neighbor's living room window and fled the scene.

The firebomb ignited the living room, but the occupants were able to put it out before the fire department and police arrived on the scene, Brazis said.

Police were told that the suspect and victim have been involved in an ongoing dispute.

Sunday afternoon, a witness called police around 3 p.m. to report the suspect was at her home. The witness followed the suspect as she drove away from her home north on Mendocino Avenue, and police were ableto make an arrest.

Taylor was arrested on suspicion of arson of an inhabited dwelling and use of an explosive device. Bail was set at $500,000.
