2-Alarm Vallejo Cocktail Lounge Fire Investigated As Arson

VALLEJO (CBS SF) -- A two-alarm fire at a cocktail lounge in Vallejo early Thursday morning was being investigated as arson, according to a Vallejo police sergeant.

The fire at the Village Cocktail Lounge, located at 732 Tuolumne St., was reported to fire officials at 2:36 a.m., Vallejo police Sergeant Kevin Hamrick said.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation, but was suspected of being an act of arson, Hamrick said.

Nobody was inside the building at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported, Hamrick said.

About six hours earlier and two blocks away from the Village Cocktail Lounge, a two-alarm fire blazed at a single-family home in the 1400 block of Alabama Street.

The house fire was reported to fire officials at 8:33 p.m. on Wednesday and has also been deemed suspicious, Hamrick said.

Hamrick said that no residents were home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.

At least half of the house was destroyed in the fire, Hamrick said.

Anyone with information regarding either incident is asked to contact the Vallejo police at (707) 648-4565.
