Weekend Gun Violence In Oakland Kills 3, Injures 2

OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- Oakland police were investigating the third homicide this weekend.

The latest happened near Jack London Square around 2:45 p.m. Saturday.

Officers found the victim with gunshot wounds in the 400 block of 3rd Street. That person was pronounced dead at the scene.

The identity has not been released and police were still looking for the shooter.

Friday night, there were 3 shootings. Two were fatal.

A man was killed and another man was injured by gunfire in East Oakland, according to police.

Police received a report of a shooting at 11:48 p.m. near the
intersection of E. 16th Street and Seminary Avenue, near the Rainbow Recreation Center.

One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The second victim was transported to a local hospital with multiple gunshot wounds and was in stable condition, according to police.

Police said two suspects with firearms were reported to have fled the scene in a vehicle following the shooting and remain at large.

Friday, around 7:45 p.m., a man was arrested for shooting and killing a woman in East Oakland.

The shooting happened near the intersection of 103rd and Longfellow avenues, police Officer J. Moore said.

Police took the man in to custody at a nearby residence shortly
after the shooting.
