Daily Madden: Pigeon Should Have Been Flagged During Raiders-Chiefs Game

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) - The most exciting part of the Oakland Raiders contest against the Kansas City Chiefs last Sunday was undoubtedly the pigeon that wouldn't get off the field.

"This pigeon tried to get in the huddle," coach Madden told the KCBS morning team, all still scratching their heads the bird didn't get flagged for being in the neutral zone.

But look at the pigeon's performance at half time, when it evaded a bucket-wielding suit who tried to make it look like a normal part of football.

"They tried to kick him. They tried catch him. They tried the bucket and they couldn't do it, so they probably couldn't flag him either," Madden said.

"It was the high point of the game, I guarantee you. The fans got into that more than they got into any play in the game."
