OAKLAND (CBS SF) – A lockdown at an Oakland elementary school was lifted Friday morning after police determined there was not a threat from a caller who said a shooting was going to happen, a school district spokesman said.

Students at Hoover Elementary School, located at 890 Brockhurst St., were placed on lockdown around 9 a.m. after the school was called three times by an unidentified woman who said there would be a shooter at the school in 10 minutes, Oakland Unified School District spokesman Troy Flint said.

At around 9:40 a.m., police lifted the lockdown after an investigation did not find anything to substantiate the threat, Flint said.

School district police and city police responded to the school, where restricted access and a police presence will continue throughout the school day, Flint said.

No one was injured during the lockdown, during which classroom instruction continued without interruption, according to Flint.
