Hillsborough Man Interrupts Burglary In His Garage, Suspects Flee

HILLSBOROUGH (CBS SF) — A Hillsborough resident Sunday morning disrupted two burglars who were trying to take items out of his car, according to police.

Officers responded to reports of an attempted burglary in the 500 block of Hayne Road at about 4:15 a.m., according to Hillsborough police.

A resident had walked to his garage to check the dome light in his car when he found two masked men in the process of stealing his property, police said.

The suspects quickly ran when discovered by the resident, police said.

They were described as male suspects between 5 feet 7 inches and 6 feet tall. They were wearing all black clothing and black ski masks.

Anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the neighborhood should contact Hillsborough police at (650) 375-7556.

Police reminded residents to always lock vehicle doors, even when parked in garages, and to remove valuable items.
