Fresno Teacher Gets 6 Months Jail For Sex With Student
FRESNO (CBS/AP) -- A former Fresno high school teacher has been ordered to serve six months in jail for having sex with one of her students.
30-year-old Megan Denman was sentenced Wednesday after pleading guilty in October to three counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor and other charges.
Prosecutors said Denman had a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old boy that began in the summer of 2011.
Denman was arrested in April after police pulled the teen over driving her car. According to court documents, the boy showed investigators text messages from Denham and told them about the relationship.
Denman has since resigned from her teaching position at Fresno's Hoover High School.
Her attorney, Roger Nuttal, has said she doesn't intend to return to teaching.
