HALF MOON BAY (CBS SF) — A dead cow washed up on the beach in Half Moon Bay Monday.

A Half Moon Bay mom and her young daughter first spotted the cow on the Northern end of Half Moon Bay State Beach, according to San Carlos Patch.

The Peninsula Humane Society/SPCA planned to pick up the animal sometime Tuesday.

The cause of death was not immediately apparent, but a park ranger said the animal appeared to have drowned.
