Warriors, Grizzlies Talk Trade For Rudy Gay

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS Sports) -- After word surfaced that the Memphis Grizzlies are finally actively pursuing a trade of forward Rudy Gay in order to get under the luxury tax, CBS Sports has learned that the Golden State Warriors have been involved in the discussions.

But the talks have apparently stalled due to Memphis' reluctance to take on Richard Jefferson's remaining $21 million.

The Warriors have been after Gay for some time, dating back to before the 2012 draft, when they were actively seeking a veteran wing. The Warriors have money to dump in the form of Andris Biedrins and other players. The Grizzlies are said to be pursuing a cash dump only, with draft picks as the only value return.
