New San Jose Airport Lounge Offers Passengers Showers, Buffet

SAN JOSE (KCBS) - Passengers now have the chance to hop in the shower and grab a bite to eat from the buffet as they wait at Mineta San Jose International Airport.

Airport officials said any ticketed passenger can take advantage of the amenities at Club SJC, the new $2 million lounge that opened on the third floor of Terminal A Thursday.

"This club is open to all passengers. There is a day pass they can purchase for $35 and some of our airlines will make the club available to their premium customers, but it's open to everybody," said airport spokeswoman Rosemary Barnes.

Barnes said passengers can also VIP conference rooms for business meetings or take advantage of quiet work areas with free Wi-Fi access to the Internet.

"Sometimes people just want to work in a quiet area and meet with people," she said, adding that many would also appreciate the chance to freshen up before a long day of both travel and work.

"We do have shower facilities in there," Barnes said.
