SAN LEANDRO (CBS SF) – Police are searching for two armed suspects who robbed a Home Depot store in San Leandro Tuesday evening.

The San Leandro Police Department received 911 calls regarding a robbery in progress at the Home Depot located at 1933 Davis St. at about 7:10 p.m.

According to witnesses, two black males entered the store wearing ski masks.

At least one of the suspects was armed with a black handgun, according to witnesses. The suspects demanded money and fled in an unknown direction with an undisclosed amount of money, according to police.

According to witnesses, the suspects were both in their 20s and stood between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 11 inches tall, and weighed between 170 and 200 pounds, police said.

At the time of the robbery, there were dozens of customers and employees inside the store, resulting in many eyewitnesses.

One employee fainted as a result of the robbery, police said.

The employee was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment, according to police.

San Leandro police Lt. Luis Torres said that employees did the smart thing by not trying to interfere with the robbery or stop the suspects.

Officers were investigating the case and have not made any arrests, according to San Leandro police Lt. Randy Brant.
