SF Man Drowns, Another Presumed Dead On Kauai

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) — Authorities found the body of one San Francisco man and another is presumed drowned after an incident on Hawaii’s Kauai Island on Friday.

Adam Griffiths, 46, and Brian Baker, 47, were with three friends near South Kalihiwai Point on the island’s north shore late Friday afternoon when Baker was swept into the ocean by the surf, according to the Kauai Fire Department.

Griffiths dove in to try to help Baker but was also overcome by the surf.

Authorities retrieved Griffiths’ body on Saturday morning but had still not found Baker as of Sunday night. Fire officials said they planned to resume the search Monday morning.
