Tow Truck Crash Leaves 3 Hurt In San Francisco's South Of Market Area

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Three people were injured in a crash in San Francisco's South of Market district early Tuesday morning, a fire captain said.

Fire and medical crews responded to a report of a collision between a tow truck and another vehicle at about 6:05 a.m. near the intersection of Ninth and Brannan streets, the fire captain said.

Three people were transported to San Francisco General Hospital in potentially critical condition, according to the captain.

One person needed to be extricated from a vehicle using the Jaws of Life. Another person was partially ejected, according to fire officials.

Emergency crews responded to the scene within a few minutes.

Police remained at the scene as of 6:55 a.m., fire officials said.
