Man Rescued From Water Near SF Hyde Street Pier

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - Emergency crews rescued a man from the water near the Hyde Street Pier in San Francisco Monday morning, according to fire officials.

San Francisco fire crews and the U.S. Coast Guard responded to a report of someone in the water of the San Francisco Bay, about 200 yards west of the Hyde Street Pier, at 6:09 a.m.

Within 5 minutes, rescue crews had made contact with the man in the water. Crews deployed a boat to assist in the rescue operation.

When rescue crews arrived the man was conscious and could be heard yelling from the pier, according to fire officials.

According to rescue crews, the man was in the process of being transported from the rescue boat to an ambulance for further medical assistance.
