Cowboys Capture Camel Loose On Concord Road

CONCORD (CBS SF) -- Half a dozen cowboys in the East Bay had the unusual task of wrangling a camel Tuesday night in Concord.

A 2,000 pound-plus camel named Rudy escaped his fenced enclosure along Bailey road twice within 24 hours Tuesday, and was hit by a mini-van during the second escape.

Rudy escaped his enclosure earlier that day around 3 p.m., and police officers were able to return him to his pen.

For the second escape, it took the cowboys more than two hours to get Rudy corralled, and into the trailer.
