Sausalito Woman Arrested For Alleged DUI Near Police Station

SAUSALITO (CBS SF) -- A Sausalito woman was arrested Thursday for DUI after allegedly violating traffic laws near the police station.

A Sausalito parking enforcement officer saw the driver of a Toyota sedan fail to stop at a stop sign on Caledonia Street near Johnson Street in Sausalito around 2:30 p.m., Lt. Kurtis Skoog said.

The female driver then started driving south on the northbound-only section of Caledonia Street.

The driver then made a sudden right turn and parked on the wrong side of Johnson Street, right in front of an occupied police car in an area reserved for police vehicles, Skoog said.

The parking enforcement officer kept the driver under surveillance until a police officer arrived, Skoog said.

The police officer noticed the driver displayed poor balance and coordination, and she was given field sobriety tests, which she failed, Skoogs said.

Huyen Tran, 49, was arrested for DUI and booked into the Marin County jail, Skoogs said. Her bail on the two misdemeanor DUI charges is $5,200.
