Officers Serving Warrant Attacked By 2 Dogs In Richmond

RICHMOND (CBS SF) -- Berkeley police officers conducting a search warrant in Richmond shot and killed two dogs Tuesday afternoon after one of the dogs bit an officer, Berkeley police said.

Around 3:20 p.m. the officers were executing the warrant in an undisclosed Richmond residence when they found three pit bulls that belonged to the resident, police said.

One dog bit an officer in the arm and another dog also attacked, prompting the officers to shoot and kill the two dogs, police said.

The officer was treated for their injuries and released from a hospital Tuesday.
