Pittsburg police Lt. Ron Raman said they were fortunate there were no serious injuries in the incident.

"Our officers did an outstanding job. They come to work everyday knowing they can face a situation like this," said Raman. "They acted upon the threat and did what they were trained to do and we're glad that they are both okay."

Several others were taken in for questioning, but only the suspect has been arrested.
