Father Claims Kids Sexually Assaulted By Sex Offender Living In Foster Home

SACRAMENTO (CBS/AP) -- The father of three children has sued Sacramento County's child protective services agency, claiming the kids were sexually assaulted by a registered sex offender who was living at their grandmother's house.

The suit was filed late last month alleging the agency didn't become aware of the man's status until a month after the two girls and a boy were placed in the home of their grandmother who received temporary custody.

Records show the boy, who was 6 years old at the time, said Larry Gowan had touched his privates several times. The agency took custody of the three children and placed them in a foster home.

Sacramento County officials said they couldn't comment on the case.
