DALY CITY (CBS SF) – Work crews capped a gas leak at the Serramonte Center shopping mall in Daly City Friday afternoon after a third-party contractor working in the parking lot severed a 2-inch line, a PG&E spokesman said.
The gas leak was reported just before 12:45 p.m., according to the North County Fire Authority.
It posed no threat to shoppers at the mall and no evacuations were ordered, but traffic was diverted away from the scene, according to fire spokesman Matt Lucett.
The gas line, a main serving individual businesses at the mall, was capped by 1:42 p.m., PG&E spokesman Jason King said.
No customers lost service as a result of the leak, and repairs were under way this afternoon, King said.
